Lake County's Real Estate Market:

Lake County is a county located in the north central portion of the U.S. state of California, north of the San Francisco Bay Area. It takes its name from Clear Lake, the dominant geographic feature in the county. As of 2000 the population was 58,309. The county seat is Lakeport. The central geographical feature of Lake County being Clear Lake, the largest natural lake wholly within California (unlike Lake Tahoe which is partially in Nevada).

Lake County went from less than 100 acres of grapevines in 1965 to over 8,800 acres of vineyards today, and has seen the recent establishment of several American Viticultural Areas such as High Valley AVA and Red Hills Lake County AVA. Many of the vineyards in Lake County today support sustainable farming practices.

In 2007 the Lake County real estate market has turned to favor buyers for the first time in years. While housing prices in the Bay Area have reached their upper limits, Lake County Real Estate continues to be affordable, which is one reason why many Bay Area residents are looking to communities around Clear Lake, California to find affordable properties.

You will find homes and property for sale in the communities of Clearlake, Lakeport, Kelseyville, Buckingham, Clearlake Riviera, Finley, Clear Lake Keys, Cobb, Middletown, Lower Lake, Upper Lake, Nice, Lucerne or Clearlake Oaks.
